About Charlie's Summer 2026 Drive for KEEN

Hello friends,

Summer is here and I am again raising funds for KEEN Greater DC!  KEEN has been providing free weekend activities for kids with disabilities--a group with relatively few other recreational opportunities--since 1992.  

In those 34 years, KEEN has expanded from one small program with only a few participants and coaches to more than 30 programs with 500+ athletes and at least that many volunteer coaches in DC, Springfield, Vienna, Montgomery County, Prince Georges County, and Baltimore.  These programs are broken into separate sessions for children 12 years old and under, teenagers, and young adults , and include one-on-one sports sessions, bowling, swimming, tae kwon do, basketball, tennis, soccer, and zumba.   

For parents of children with special needs, it is especially important that KEEN provides services with no charge to them--almost every other program aimed at their children is expensive, but KEEN provides its programs for free because of the generosity of our volunteers and of people like you.
